This is an honest heartfelt message to all the professional procrastinators (even if you are not one, this is universal), kindly get your act together before life kicks you in the ass. As Gary Vaynerchuck puts it, Regret is like poison & it really feels like it most of the time.
Average people only want to feel successful & things associated with it but when it comes to actually working for it, there is no action. And this stacking up of inaction also stacks up the feeling of not being successful day in & day out.
We constantly feel regretful of things we didn’t do today or a few weeks ago. That habit you wanted to establish in your life, that routine you wanted to follow, that business that you wanted to make profitable or at least kick start, that promotion that you wanted to work towards & so many goals like these.

We Always Resist Doing The Right Thing
More often than not, every time life gives you a small window of opportunity to improve, you always give yourself an excuse. That I don’t know how to do it? I don’t know whether this is worth the time, money & efforts? because you don’t know whether you will win or lose? You never ever take that first step, you don’t want to feel the feeling of being uncomfortable, you don’t want your mind to fill up with some insecurity.
The human mind is conditioned for survival not for optimal performance. You have to break that condition. I often tell my fitness coaching clients that since you are training with me now, you will be training & consuming food that will enable you to be optimal. You are not eating & training for survival. You are eating & training for performance.
You just want to survive the temporary feeling of being uncomfortable by doing things that comforts you the most. Binge watching YouTube videos, social comparison on Instagram & other social networks. You justify your productivity by being busy & looking busy on the surface level. But deep within, regret is making its roots stronger day in & day out.
Tomorrow Never Comes
This initially carries on for days, then weeks, then months & then years.By far the biggest excuse we give to ourselves. And then we ask ourselves why the other person was able to do it. It is because you never started, you were only figuring out problems while the winner was figuring out possibilities.
You don’t need to be great to take that first step, but you need to take that first step in order to be great one day.Tweet
Being Busy Is Not Productivity
Stop considering doing daily household work or organising stuff is being productive. These tasks are not bringing you closer to your goals. It is in fact resisting you from doing the actual work. It’s a distraction trap & you fall for it every single day. You are always on ground zero.
But you have survived the day by killing time doing things that aren’t relevant to your goal. That feeling of survival & not being uncomfortable by doing the actual work is only a delusion. Because regret starts from inactivity. Sooner or later it will catch you & bury you to the ground. And until you realize it, it will be too late to change your reality.
It’s Never Too Late To Start, Start Where You Stand
You are only as old as you allow yourself to think you are. There is a phrase that we use in India. “ Jab Jago Tab Savera” . That translates to when you wake up to a reality that you didn’t want for yourself, that is a perfect place to start the positive change.
Let your regret act as a catalyst of inspiration this time. In order to empty the regret tank, start filling it up with a fulfillment tank, take small action every day. You can change your life in 1 year or less only if you take action to improve yourself every single day. The more you take relevant action the more closer you get to your goals.
Take action today. Choose faith not fear.
