Some Days you are super motivated & some days you are constantly looking for external motivation sources to get started. The guilt of constant procrastination & the fear of failure has taken over your focus & has done enough harm to your self esteem. Distractions don’t feel like distractions since they are now a part of your personality without you even realizing it.
The act of getting out of focus from your goals is so automatic these days, hours & hours pass by looking for answers on YouTube & Instagram. Until you realize how the hell did you become this person.
This habit repeats itself every passing hour, days, weeks, months, years till the time you think it’s impossible to change yourself. Then no matter how hard you try, you always end up quitting anything that you start. Even believing.
Being self motivated is a habit that needs to be developed like any other habit. But it comes with it’s own set of challenges that makes you out of focus. More than challenges these are key behavioural problems that you need to overcome to always be motivated.

What you need to do is to unlock this pattern of self-guilt & forget this old identity. This is what your old identity looks like. This is how you behave.
1. You Look For Quick Results
People tend to repeat behaviours that give them mental satisfaction and that feel good. That is why consuming continuous gaming, YouTube, Instagram, Porn, etc doesn’t feel so tiring after all. The act of consuming information that your brain accepts as fulfilling & comfort giving is very delusional.
Reason being you associate doing the right things i.e work on your goals with hard work & that hustle feeling & that makes you instantly think this is not my cup of tea. But the fact of the matter is that you are running away from the feeling of being challenged. You are running away from the step by step process of completing small tasks & feeling rewarded. You seek instant gratification as any other activity in your life.
Things that attract you are actually made to attract you & that is how they are projected. What successful people project is hard work, discipline, planning, organizing. It’s difficult for your brain to fall in love with hardwork & other traits simply because you haven’t done it enough times like scrolling an instagram feed for an hour.
Again, there is no certification course for building patience. But If you are courageous enough to face your fears & focus then the other side is nothing but success.
2. You Wait For Things To Get Worse (unknowingly)
In short, you procrastinate. You think giving yourself the comfort of delaying the task & replacing it with entertaining yourself will help you be more focused or help you ease out to do the actual task much better. In all reality you are just running away from facing challenges & facing your fears. Because tomorrow when you wake up, again you will tell yourself the same story.
You think learning & educating yourself is a long & boring process also because results are not guaranteed, that also confirms you are afraid to make mistakes. You don’t want to feel that feeling of not knowing & being fearful. Instead of pushing yourself you always go back to your comfort zone wishing tomorrow everything will be ok because there is no external situation to keep you motivated.
Well everything will not be ok unless you train your mind to actually do the work & make the hard work mindset your default mindset.
This will enable you to be disciplined & self motivated. If you can’t make this change fundamentally, somewhere in life the situations that you will have created for yourself will force you anyways & that experience will be much more fearful & regretful.
3. You Expect Maximum Results While Putting Minimum Efforts
The problem lies in you thinking too short term which leads to your mind convincing itself to put little efforts because things matter to you too much in the short term. Now Now & Now.
What you need to understand is all this time you have only pictured & practiced the same trait again & again of putting no efforts at all.
You can’t put the same efforts & expect substantial results. I’m talking about both how you think all day & what actions you take. This is the law of life.
What You Sow, You Shall Reap
If only watching YouTube videos or inspirational movies or reading books would be the solution to success, then everybody would be successful.
Success comes to those who are willing to stick to the process & learn each step of the way. Who are willing to make mistakes, fail faster, & succeed long term.
4. You Are Afraid Of The Hard Work
If You Only Take Action When It’s Convenient, I’m Sorry You Are Already Out Of Competition.Tweet
Willingness to be courageous & take action no matter what is what sets apart people who make it to the top & the people who don’t. Period!
Just see what happens if you don’t give up this time.
Don’t associate hard work with continuous grind & burn out. When you think this way, your ability to learn new things & from your mistakes along the way diminishes. This makes you fearful of failure & making mistakes.
In reality life mistakes & failures are a part of success. Without failure there is no success. Without trying there is no reward.
5. You Are Always Looking To Escape
When Your Focus Is Scattered, Results Are Also Scattered.Tweet
Don’t try to be the jack of all and the master of none. You are not perfect. Perfection lies in doing the right things, not easy things. You are constantly looking for answers rather than being determined & creating one. Consuming has taken precedence over creating.
Most of the time answers don’t lie outside your mental environment. Everything that you need to know is within you. It’s about whether you are willing or not?
You always think that grass is greener on the other side from where you stand but in all reality grass is always greener where you nourish it, where you persevere your dreams.
