Biggest reason you fear competition is because it makes you insecure & that’s normal. But what are you going to do about it?
“Anyone can show heroic leadership when all’s going beautifully. The real test of your ability to lead is how masterfully you perform when everything’s falling apart”Tweet
But naturally, it is more to do with your mindset rather than an actual competition. It’s more to do with overcoming the fear of competition & channelizing your negative thoughts & energy into the right direction of developing yourself.
This is how great leaders do it..
Table of Contents
1. Create Your Own Identity
You are as good as the value you provide into other people’s lives. That is what makes a difference & that is what makes you different.
Only way you can do that honestly is by being yourself. By creating your own identity. Creating your own set of values.
You can copy a person’s strategy but you can’t copy his personality, his mindset. Because values are developed, mindset is developed, not bought on eBay.
2. Mind Your Own Business
“If you bother too much about what others are doing, eventually nobody will bother about what you are doing”Tweet
Because the only way to progress is by constantly working on yourself & you can’t do it by focusing elsewhere.
You have to focus on what you are doing, how much action are you actually putting in.
3. Be The Hardest Worker In The Room
I don’t want to glorify hard work & hustle but it seems like they will never be out of fashion.
If you are going to do something, do it with full heart or don’t do it at all. Little efforts will give you little results. That will eventually lead you to being insecure again. .
Be courageous. Because money won’t bring hard work but hard work will definitely bring money & mental satisfaction.
4. Compete With Yourself
“A flower does not think of competing to the flower next to it. It just Blooms”Tweet
Don’t chase the competitors, that is not your goal. Your goal is to be a better version of yourself than yesterday. Your goal is not what your competition is pursuing.
Whenever you feel insecure, ask yourself why you start in the first place? Was it to be the best in what you do & adding value into people’s lives or to compete?
Instead take your competitor as an inspiration, learn from them to create your destiny until they feel like learning from you.
5. Take Action Everyday
If you only take action when it’s convenient, I’m sorry you will never be able to be a competition for others.
Successful people don’t achieve success in a time capsule. They make sure they are working every single day to improve their craft, to improve their performance.
When you create value like this for yourself every single day, the cumulative effect after a year is so substantial, you become a different person.
But it all comes down to taking action every single day.
6. Be A Student Of Life
When your intention is to learn & not consume, when your intention is to constantly create, when you are excited to learn new things in your field, you don’t worry about what can go wrong.
You only focus on finding solutions, drawing inspiration from little things in life.
Being a student gives you so much perspective. Even if you fail, your excitement of learning from the mistakes you made will keep you going.
It will drive you to take action.
To Your Success.
